Scaling a business not only requires a strong strategy and operational structure, but also your personal growth as entrepreneur. It is essential to be aware of personal qualities and competencies that are critical during this growth phase.

While qualities such as curiosity, drive and flexibility come in handy when discovering opportunities in the start-up phase, competencies such as analytical thinking, leadership and decisiveness are becoming increasingly important when exploiting these opportunities in scaling up. Creating a complementary leadership team with diverse skills and attributes becomes a key element for successfully navigating your challenges.

Knowing your own strengths and weaknesses is therefore essential. your strengths can be used to move the business forward, while recognizing weaknesses gives you the opportunity to learn and improve.

Practice self-reflection and ask for feedback from your team and advisors. As an entrepreneur, you need to constantly learn and adapt. This sometimes means you have to delegate tasks. Strengthening your own competencies and complementing weaknesses through your team is a powerful strategy for personal and business growth.
